The Perkiomen Valley Twilight League began in 1915. The "Perky
League" has 10 teams scattered throughout the Middle
of Montgomery County.
The League attracts the best college players in the area
as well as "wily" veterans, some of whom have played
professional baseball earlier in their careers. The level
of play and maturity of players, managers and coaches is outstanding.
The Perky League is an amateur league. However, the League
is formally organized and operates under Official Baseball
Rules which include American League Rules with the exception
that players may use aluminum bats.
All games are officiated by paid professional umpires. Game
results, pitching and batting statistics are routinely reported
in the Norristown Times
Herald, Ambler Gazette, The
Reporter (North Penn), Souderton
Independent and Montgomery County Record.
